WaveMedRadCard™ · RadPatch
Use case 05 · Insurers

The smallest cover
you can give a policyholder.

The policy stays in the drawer. The cover goes on the wrist.

RadPatch is cover worn on the body, and your brand on the policyholder's wrist every day. When they cannot speak, one second with a smartphone passes on blood type, medication, emergency contacts, the insurer and the policy number.

Insurers
Who it is for

For life, general and travel insurers that want a welcome gift, a senior or pre-existing-condition product, a travel policy or a group plan to start working at the scene of an accident, not only after it.

Insurers appear after the accident, but the size of the loss is decided in the first thirty minutes

  • When an older policyholder collapses, the list of pills they take every day exists only in their memory, and the emergency room has no way to check it.
  • The phone is locked and the family's number is inside it. Identification comes late and the family cannot be reached.
  • The hospital cannot tell which insurer or which policy is involved, because the policy is in a drawer at home.
  • A paper calendar as a welcome gift is soon forgotten, and every claim sends the policyholder off to gather the same paperwork again.

Jeongsuk's welcome gift, eight months later in a rainy market lane

  1. Sign-up day

Along with her senior health policy, the agent hands over a RadPatch carrying the insurer's logo. Her son Jihu sets up a record for her in the free WaveMed app on his own phone: blood type B+, sulfa-drug allergy, two blood-pressure medicines, his number, the insurer and the policy number. He writes it to the patch on her watch strap and notes down the four-digit PIN.

  2. 8 months later · 10:05

Jeongsuk, 68, slips in a wet market lane and hits her head. She is confused and slow to give her name, and her phone sits locked in her shopping bag.

  3. 10:13

A paramedic holds a phone with 𝒱WaveMed to her watch strap for one second. Blood type, the sulfa-drug allergy, her blood-pressure medicines, Jihu's number, the insurer and the policy number appear. No internet, no login. The paramedic calls Jihu on the number shown.

  4. 10:48

The emergency room knows her medication and allergy before she can answer. The admissions desk reads the insurer and policy number from the patch, and on his way to the hospital Jihu reports the accident on the helpline printed on the information card.

  5. After discharge

Jihu opens his mother's record in WaveMed. The insurance certificate he photographed on sign-up day is already in her documents; he photographs the diagnosis letter and the prescription into the same place. No running around to gather claim papers again. When the renewal notice arrives, the insurer's logo is still on Jeongsuk's wrist.

Cover that goes to work at the scene

  • A personal emergency information patch with your logo. It holds blood type, allergies, medication, diabetes emergency information and emergency contacts and, if the policyholder wishes, the insurer and policy number in the optional insurance field. A smartphone reads it in one second, with no battery, no internet and no login.
  • The information belongs to the policyholder. Only what they choose is stored, encrypted inside the patch, and only their four-digit PIN can change it. The insurer provides the patch and receives no health data, so you start without a privacy burden.
  • At the scene, 𝒱WaveMed, the free app for paramedics, emergency responders and fire crews, can only read. Details appear in the reader's language, among 27, so a travel-insurance customer who collapses abroad is understood by local paramedics and hospitals. In the policyholder's own WaveMed app, the emergency report can also be rebuilt in another language on the spot.
  • Claim papers live in Healthcare Documents in the free WaveMed app: insurance certificates, check-up records with a folder for each year, and prescriptions added with the camera, kept for every family member. Pick what to include and export a full report as a PDF.
  • Senior and pre-existing-condition products come with daily care. Completed marks and reminders on the medication schedule make a missed dose stand out, and blood pressure and heart rate stay on record as a 30-day trend.

How to roll it out

  1. Pick one product to start: a welcome gift, a senior or pre-existing-condition product, travel insurance or a group plan. We produce logo patches and information cards carrying your helpline, from a minimum quantity.
  2. Path A for individual policies: the agent hands over the patch with the policy; the policyholder or a family member registers in three steps in the free WaveMed app (no account) and writes down the four-digit PIN. We build the registration guide for agents and call centres together.
  3. Path B for group plans: companies, schools and groups issue patches in one pass with WaveMed Desktop and a reader, writing the details each member chose in list order.
  4. After six months we compile policyholder satisfaction and response cases together, and decide whether to extend to the next product.

Frequently asked questions

Does the insurer have to receive or hold policyholders' health data?

No. The information exists only on the policyholder's patch. The insurer provides the patch and receives no health data, and the policyholder decides whether the insurer and policy number go on it at all.

Does it work for travel-insurance customers abroad?

Yes. A smartphone reads it in one second without internet, and it switches automatically to the reader's language, among 27. Local paramedics can read it, and only read it, with the free 𝒱WaveMed app.

What if the medication changes or the policy is renewed?

The policyholder reads the patch with the WaveMed app, enters the four-digit PIN and updates it. The app is free and needs no account.
